PostHeaderIcon Cedarwood Cotons New Boy: "Nico"

This is my darling little "Nico", my new Show/Breed Potential male puppy from my good friend, Dorthe in Denmark. His official name is Glerup's Heart's Desire and he's a real dear! His Father is Jespersen's Chili Pepper, (Breeder: Brigitte Jespersen- Denmark) his Mother is Flamencoton's Andalucia (Breeder: Rie Satsuki- Spain). He loves to play with EVERYONE! All my Cotons love him. His two favorites are my own Amelie who is just about his size, and "Uncle Momo" (Cotonnerie Mathis). Nico loves to chase and tumble and wrestle with Amelie and play Coton soccer with "Uncle Momo." I'm certainly hoping that little Nico will pass all his health tests and become a nice stud male for me. He has a wonderful disposition, is very affectionate and a real cuddler at night. AND he isn't related to any of my other Cotons at all! Hooray!
Here you see him suggling up into the pillows on my bed.

PostHeaderIcon Cedarwood Cotons Has New Puppies!

I am taking reservations for a few more puppies that will be ready for their new homes in March, 2011!

Lilly had her 6 babies on December 29th, in the wee hours of the morning.  Yes, 6!  She had 3 handsome boys and 3 lovely girls.  Their father is Cotonnerie Pirate Captain Tew (now at Cedarwood Cotons).

Magalie has 4 puppies!  They were born on Tuesday, January 4th (two girls and two boys.) Cotonnerie Pirate Captain Tew (now at Cedarwood Cotons) is their father.

Paloma  had her first 5 babies on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 5th and then another one (yes!) sometime on Friday after the morning puppy head count for a total of 6 sweet babies (5 girls and 1 boy!) Cotonnerie Mathis (at Cedarwood) is the father of Paloma’s babies.  So exciting!

You can see Photos of Lilly’s Magalie’s and Paloma’s puppies, photos of Pirate & Momo and the rest of my Coton family, and photos of previous puppies by going to my Photo Site at:

PostHeaderIcon UPDATE: Coton de Tulear FOUND!!!

UPDATE:  Sierra, the lost Coton de Tulear dog in Snowmass, Colorado has been reunited with her owner Kris Forke.
Sierra is back safe and sound! She is full of stick tights/cockle burrs and her back nails have been worn down to the quick. She was found quite a ways away from home running down a county road, running in the tire tracks during the snow storm. A rancher recognized she didn’t belong out there and took her to the Aspen shelter. Thank God!
Miracles do happen! I want to thank each and every one of you who prayed and sent me a message. I will respond to each of you when I can.
Prayers and thoughts do work and I appreciate each and every one of them. Many people were very helpful by spreading the word, and I’m humbled by your efforts. I know the Coton community can be very divided at times but when a Coton’s life is in danger I know we all rally for the cause. And I love you all for that!
Now I have a grooming job to do on Sierra and hope I don’t need to shave her to the skin.
Thank you so much,
Kris

PostHeaderIcon Important Information on Blue Buffalo Dog Food

A team of researchers at Michigan State University has discovered a group of illnesses reported in dogs across the country is linked to a specific brand of dog food from the Blue Buffalo Co.

Veterinarians from across the country recently began sending samples from dogs with elevated levels of calcium in their blood to MSU’s Diagnostic Center for Population and Animal Health, director Carole Bolin said. The sick dogs had increased thirst and urination, and some of them also suffered weight loss, loss of appetite and signs of kidney damage.
